Grumsin Forest

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Grumsin beech forest is under a special protection. It is one of the largest natural beech forests in Europe, that stretches between Altkünkendorf and Groß-Ziethen in the Uckermark landscape. A system of well-developed and documented trails for hikers and cyclists thread throughout this jewel of nature with its boglands and unspoilt swamp landscapes. The information center in Altkünkendorf has interesting facts about this natural heritage and from the village's former church tower between the forest and the distillery you can enjoy a unique view of this year-round everchanging magical  forest landscape.
